PRACTICE AND ALL IS COMING: ON THE DOOR TO MY ASHTANGA TEACHER'S SHALA
AS OF MARCH 2021 OUTDOOR CLASSES BEING HELD FOR ALL LEVELS SEE CLASS SCHEDULE
INDOOR CLASSES WILL RETURN WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO BE INDOORS TOGETHER AGAIN
Ashtanga Based: Some Yoga Experience or Athletic Lifestyle to Take Will closely follow the Primary Series of Ashtanga. This ancient practice is the foundation for most Americanized flow/vinyasa/power yoga. Susan will modify this practice for students as she has for herself. Susan's teacher, Larry Hobbs, taught her Ashtanga used to be called Ashtanga Research, because everyday we research ourselves: body/mind/spirit. Every Day we are different, so we listen and research our bodies, practicing yoga accordingly.
Stretch and Soothe: Beginner to Advanced Most of this class will be spent on the mat gently getting to know the postures and methods best to heal and soothe. Susan brings her Montessori kindergarten teaching experience of addressing each student's needs to the yoga space. She loves identifying postures catered to help each student. As a lifetime athlete in multiple sports, to include skateboarding and surfing, Susan's area of expertise is working with athletes. If you are an athlete, Susan offers you the challenge of asking her which sports you play(ed). After 16 years teaching yoga and a lifetime athlete, Susan can identify your athletic history based on how you carry your body, probably as soon as you walk in the door. Play the game if you want!
Reggae: Some Yoga Experience or Athletic Lifestyle to Take this Class Jammin' to some fun reggae this class will be a combination of Ashtanga Based and Stretch and Soothe. This means the class will include some time flowing in sun salutations and segue into some chill stretch time.
Surprise Specialty Yoga Incorporating Yoga Lifestyle: Beginner to Advanced The intention of this class is to go "beyond the mat" and incorporate all other aspects of yoga. The class will be grounded in the physical aspect of yoga, and each week a different ingredient will be added to expand your yoga experience. This will include chakra work, essential oils, CBD, herbs, nutrition, bringing in guests to educate and more.
